AI Coach conversations

Ask questions about your own targets, recovery, and volume, grounded in your training data — not a generic chatbot.

What this page does

A chat with a coach that only knows what your account already contains: your progressive overload targets, recent changes, recovery status, and macro guidance. It can also propose a change — adding a set to today's workout, replacing an exercise, or rebalancing a routine — but it never makes the change itself. Every proposal shows up as a confirm card naming exactly what will happen, and nothing is written until you approve it.

Step by step

  1. Open it from the Ask the coach button on the Coach tab header, or from the chat bubble that follows you around the rest of the app.
  2. Type a question in plain language — "why didn't my bench go up?", "what's still recovering?", "am I under on back volume?" — and tap Send.
  3. If the coach proposes a change, read the confirm card and tap Add it to apply it, or No thanks to skip it. A routine change opens the routine editor with the change already staged so you can review it before saving; adding a set to today's workout applies immediately.
  4. Clear, in the toolbar, wipes the local conversation and starts fresh.

Good to know

This is a paid, Android-only feature. On Windows, or without coaching unlocked, you won't see the chat bubble or the "Ask the coach" button at all — nothing is disabled or grayed out, it's simply not part of that experience.

The first time you open it, you'll be asked to confirm one thing: your training data (targets, recent changes, recovery, macros) is sent to an AI provider to answer your questions. Your name, email, and account ID are never included, and progress photos never leave your device. You can withdraw at any time from Settings, which turns the feature off immediately.

Only the last several turns of a conversation are sent with each question, and an idle thread resets after a few hours rather than picking up where it left off — this keeps answers grounded in what you're asking right now. The conversation itself stays on your device only; it's never backed up or synced to another device.
