Warm-up sets and plate calculator
Enter your working weight to see a warm-up weight and, in barbell mode, the plates to load per side. This runs the same warm-up math BulkForged uses when it builds your routine.
How this works
Warm-up weight is about half your working weight, rounded to the nearest 5 lb step. That is the figure BulkForged stores when it builds your routine.
Barbell mode breaks that weight into plates per side, heaviest first, off whatever bar weight you enter. Where your plates cannot make the number exactly, it says how far short or over the closest loadout lands. Machine-pin mode shows the same figure so you can pick the nearest pin on your own stack.
If your working weight is light enough that half of it rounds up to the same weight or heavier, no warm-up is prescribed. It would just be the working set again, so BulkForged skips it rather than showing a warm-up that is not one.
Common questions
Why does it say no warm-up is needed?
At a light enough working weight, a half-weight warm-up rounds up to the same weight as the working set itself. There's nothing to warm up into, so none is shown.
Why doesn't the warm-up weight land on a round number of kilos?
The step is 5 lb, the increment most plate sets and machine stacks are built around, so in kilos it falls between round numbers. Barbell mode tells you how close your plates can get to it.
What plates does this assume?
Standard gym denominations: 25/20/15/10/5/2.5/1.25 kg or 45/35/25/10/5/2.5 lb per side, filled heaviest-first. Change the bar weight if yours isn't 20 kg / 45 lb.
Does this store what I enter?
Your kg or lb choice is remembered on this device so the tool opens the way you left it. Nothing else you type is stored, and nothing is sent anywhere.
