What should I lift next?

Enter your rep range, your current target, and the reps and weight of each working set. This runs the same double-progression rule BulkForged applies after every workout.

How this works

This tool runs double progression. Once every working set reaches the top of your rep range, the weight goes up and reps reset to the bottom of the range. Short of that, reps move toward one more than your hardest set achieved.

The decision reads the lowest rep count across your working sets, not the average. The last set is the hardest, so hitting your target when you are most fatigued is what earns the advance.

One short set among several holds the target rather than lowering it. Only when the shortfall repeats does the target ease.

Common questions

Why does one low set not lower my target?

A single set below target is not evidence you got weaker. The target holds so you can try again next session. Only a repeated shortfall eases it.

What if I lifted more than my target weight?

Enter the weight you used beside that set's reps. A set with no weight counts at your target. If you trained heavier than your target and still hit the reps, the heavier weight becomes the new target. Not every machine has every pin, so the weight you lifted is what counts.

What does the increment category change?

It sets how big a jump the calculator proposes once you're ready for more weight. Compound and machine lifts move in bigger steps than cable or dumbbell work.
