Effective date: July 27, 2026
BulkForged is a strength-training app that plans your workouts, logs your lifting, and applies progressive overload automatically. This policy explains what data the app handles and what happens to it. The short version: your training data belongs to you, it exists so the app can coach you, and we don't sell it or show you ads. Use of BulkForged is governed by our Terms of Service.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers. Progress photos you take or import in the app stay on your device only — they are never uploaded to us or anyone else, and uninstalling the app deletes them. Outdoor cardio distance, if you use it, is measured on your watch; only the resulting distance is synced, never a route or map.
Your data is stored on your own devices, and backed up to our sync service (hosted on Microsoft Azure in the United States) so your phone, computer, and watch stay in sync and your history survives a lost device. Data in transit is always encrypted (TLS).
Our sync service keeps short-lived operational logs so we can keep the service running and defend it against abuse — for example, repeated failed sign-in attempts or someone guessing watch pairing codes. These logs record the IP address a request came from, along with the time and the result. They do not contain your workouts, body weight, or any other training data, and your email address is recorded only as a one-way scrambled value rather than in readable form.
We keep these logs because we cannot block an attacker we cannot identify. They are retained on a short rolling window and are separate from your account data, which means a security-log entry may briefly outlive an account deletion before it ages out.
If you choose to connect Health Connect, BulkForged writes your workouts, calories, and body weight to it, only with the permissions you grant and revocable there at any time. Body weight and step counts we read from Health Connect stay on your device. Workout calories we read from Health Connect become part of that workout's record, so — like the rest of your training data — they sync to our cloud service to keep your devices in sync and your history backed up. Data obtained through Health Connect is used solely to provide the app's fitness features, is never used for advertising, and is never sold. Our use of Health Connect data complies with Google's Health Connect permissions policies, including the limited use requirements.
If you apply for the beta at bulkforged.com/beta — the form itself is at bulkforged.com/apply — you are not yet a BulkForged user: you have no account, and the sections above about training data don't apply to you. This section covers what happens to your application instead.
The application form collects: your email address and name (on Android that is the Google account we add to the Play testing track); screening answers about your phone, Garmin watch, gym access and training (so we can tell whether the beta is a fit for you right now); optional demographic answers (age bracket, sex, years training, primary goal, country or timezone) used only in aggregate to understand who the beta is reaching; and your free-text answers about what you want from a training app. Age bracket, sex and training history are collected only as optional, aggregate demographic answers — never analyzed at the individual level, and never used to make any decision about you.
A human reviews every application. If you're accepted, we email an invite code to the address you applied with, and your application is kept for as long as your beta account exists, alongside your account data. If your application isn't a fit right now, it's deleted within 90 days of that decision. If you applied for BulkForged on iOS — which doesn't exist yet — your application is kept longer than a declined application, until the iOS beta opens, so we can reach you when it does; that's the one exception to the retention above, and the form says so before you submit.
To withdraw your application at any time, email support@bulkforged.com — there's no account yet, so there's no in-app path to do this.
Your data is kept for as long as you have an account, so your training history can keep informing your coaching. To delete your account and all associated cloud data, open Settings → Account → Delete account in the app — deletion takes effect immediately. If you can no longer access the app, contact support@bulkforged.com from your account email and we will complete the deletion within 30 days. See Delete your account for details. Removing the app from a device deletes that device's local copy. We also keep nightly encrypted backups of the service's database for disaster recovery; a deleted account's data can persist in those backups for up to 60 days after deletion before it fully ages out.
BulkForged is for adults. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
If this policy changes, the effective date above will change with it, and material changes will be called out in the app.
