Switching from Hevy or Strong to BulkForged
Export your workouts from Hevy or Strong, import the file, and your history, routines, schedule and starting weights come with you.
Getting the file out of Hevy
Hevy's own help article walks through it, read 3 October 2026:
- Open Hevy, tap Profile, then the settings gear.
- Tap Export & Import Data, then Export Data.
- Tap Export Workouts for your training history, or Export Measurements for your weigh-ins.
- Hevy builds a CSV and opens the share sheet. Save it or send it to yourself.
You can export both files. BulkForged reads your workouts and your measurements together.
Getting the file out of Strong
Strong's own help article walks through it, read 3 October 2026:
- On iPhone, open Settings in the app and tap Export Strong Data.
- On Android, open Settings in the app and tap Export Data.
Strong's export does not say whether you logged in kg or lb. BulkForged asks you once, before it reads a single number.
Three ways into the import page
- Setting up the app. Tap Switching from another app? on the first screen.
- Settings → Import workouts. Works any time, even long after you start training here.
- The Android share menu. Send the CSV to BulkForged from your files app or your email.
Every screen along the way is covered step by step in Importing your workouts from another app.
What arrives
- Every workout in the file, with its exercises, sets, reps, weights and cardio.
- Your routines. A workout trained twice or more in the last eight weeks becomes a routine, up to seven of them. Nothing existing is touched; a name already in use gets "(imported)" added.
- A weekly schedule, built from the weekday you usually trained each routine.
- Your starting weights, from your own last session of each routine.
- Your bodyweight, from a Hevy measurements file.
The first workout here
Your starting weight for each routine is a number you actually lifted, moved on by one ordinary step. It is never a guess, and it is never flagged unproven.
What does not happen
- A personal best in the file is listed as a record. It sets off no celebration.
- Imported workouts never move a target by themselves. Targets move only from sets you log in BulkForged.
- Nothing already in BulkForged is overwritten.
Importing again later
Import a newer export whenever you like. Only the workouts that are not already here get added.
An exercise name we don't recognize
It still imports, under the name your old app gave it. The review screen offers a match, closest names first. It never demands one.
