Does Fitbod work with Garmin?
No, Fitbod has no Garmin watch app. On Android, a Garmin can send its live heart rate to Fitbod during a workout.
What does work is a lifting app with its own Garmin watch app. BulkForged, ours, looks like this:

What does Fitbod's site say about watches and Garmin?
Fitbod's watch apps are for Apple Watch and Wear OS, and its FAQ lists Garmin under wearable sync. We read its FAQ page and help centre on 5 October 2026.
- Its FAQ page lists its platforms as "iOS, Android and Web for on-boarding purposes only".
- The same page lists "Apple Watch and Wear OS companion apps" among its integrations.
- Under "Integration & Features", the same page reads "Wearable Sync: Apple Health, Fitbit, Garmin, Strava".
- We searched Garmin's Connect IQ store on the same day and found no Fitbod app.
So what does "Garmin" mean in Fitbod's list?
In Fitbod's help centre, a Garmin is a live heart rate source on Android.
- The help centre has an article called "Live Heart Rate Tracking".
- On Android, you open the Heart Rate widget on your Garmin and select Broadcast Heart Rate.
- Fitbod then shows your heart rate on the workout screen.
- On iPhone, the article lists an Apple Watch or AirPods Pro 3 as the heart rate source.
- The article says heart rate is shown for your reference. It is not used for calories or to adjust your workout.
- It also says the feature is "gradually rolling out on Android and iOS".
- The help centre's Integrations section has eight articles. None of them is about Garmin.
So on Android, a Garmin adds heart rate to Fitbod's screen. Your sets are still logged on the phone.
What still works with Fitbod and a Garmin?
You can log in Fitbod on your phone while the watch records a Strength activity for heart rate.
- The two records stay separate. Your sets live in Fitbod and your heart rate lives in Garmin Connect.
- On Android, you can instead send the watch's live heart rate to Fitbod, as above.
What logs sets on a Garmin today?
Six options put your sets on the wrist.
- Garmin's built-in Strength activity. No app needed. It counts reps from wrist movement and lets you enter the weight after each set.
- Gravl. iPhone and Android, with a Connect IQ watch app that mirrors the workout on the phone.
- BulkForged. Android, with a Connect IQ watch app that runs the workout on the watch itself.
- Kilo. Android, with a Connect IQ watch app that also posts the workout to your Garmin profile.
- Rack. iPhone only, with a Connect IQ watch app that saves the workout as a native Garmin activity.
- Strength Tracker (LiftSync). No phone app. You build your workouts at liftsync.fit and run them from the watch.
Details for each are in Best strength training apps for Garmin watches.
How does BulkForged handle it?
BulkForged, which is our app, runs the whole workout on the Garmin itself.
Its watch app comes from the Connect IQ store.

- The watch shows the exercise, the target weight and the target reps for each set.
- You log a set in three presses: confirm the weight, confirm the reps, done.
- The rest timer starts on its own and vibrates when rest is over.
- The whole workout runs on the watch, offline. It uploads when the watch has a connection.
- The phone can stay in the locker. See Phone in the locker.
- With Coaching, the app sets your next targets after the session and records why each one moved.
See it running on a Garmin watch: a whole exercise, start to finish.
How is Fitbod's approach different from BulkForged's?
Fitbod builds each workout for you, and BulkForged keeps the routine you built.
Fitbod's FAQ page says:
- "Fitbod dynamically tailors workouts based on your fitness level, performance history, recovery status, available equipment, and training goals."
- "Fitbod adjusts loads and reps based on your abilities and equipment available."
- Its sessions come from "proprietary algorithms".
BulkForged:
- It keeps your routine as you built it. It does not pick or swap exercises for you.
- With Coaching, your targets follow a published rule called double progression.
- Double progression means adding reps until every working set reaches the top of the range, then adding weight.
- Every change goes into a log that names the session and the sets it came from.
- Any target can be edited, and the app carries on from your number.
- The full rule is in When should you add weight?
If you want the app to choose your exercises, Fitbod does that. If you want the same lifts every week, BulkForged does that.
What are BulkForged's limits?
BulkForged is Android only today, and its watch app runs on 60+ Garmin watches.
- Android only today. iPhone is coming soon, with a waitlist.
- 60+ Garmin watches: most of the fēnix 6, and the fēnix 7, 8 and 9; epix; Enduro; MARQ; tactix; quatix; D2 Mach 1 Pro; Forerunner 165, 170, 255, 265, 570, 955, 965 and 970; Descent; and the AMOLED Instincts. No Venu or vivoactive. See every supported model.
- A session is saved in BulkForged, with every set and weight. It is not a Garmin Connect activity, so it records no heart rate. See what's saved where.
